Emeralds have always symbolized wealth, loyalty, and new beginnings. They have also been favored by royalty across the world for its rich green color and meaning. Some of the oldest known emeralds are estimated to be 2.97 billion years old, but Egypt was one of the first places to famously mine emeralds, dating back to 330 BC. Cleopatra was widely known for her love of emeralds and they were made into jewelry pieces, as well as used in burial rituals. Emeralds have such a rich history and meaning behind them that makes these gemstones extremely special.
