October's Birthstone: Opal

Fall has arrived. Temperatures are starting to fall, the smell of pumpkin spice is in the air and Halloween is just around the corner. This is an exciting month for many and if you're lucky enough to be born in this month, your birthstone is the opal. 

The opal is an ancient stone with an interesting history that has honorable mentions from ancient Greek texts to Shakespearean literature. The bright colors of an opal fragment into shards of exceptional beauty, giving the stone a one-of-a-kind quality. I love wearing opals because it reminds me of the colors of the sun kissed ocean.
